About
This blog is about myself and my work as a Marie Curie Fellow at Mendeley. I am leading a project in data science on big data problems in areas of machine learning and information retrieval. Particular topics of interest currently are distributional semantics, recommendation engines, search, vector space models, natural language processing and distributed computing. Some technologies I work with are Hadoop, Mahout, Lucene, HBase, Java and many other bits and pieces.
The most exciting part of my work is that I am employing and extending state-of-the-art research to develop cutting edge products. I work along the whole pipeline from research to product development to launch. It is rewarding to experience the whole life-cycle from a research, product development/management and business perspective.
